Hello and welcome!

My name is Dr. Erika Tomlinson. I am a licensed clinical psychologist and clinical neuropsychologist based in San Francisco, California. I specialize in treatment of a range of concerns and disorders such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, chronic health conditions, addictive behaviors, and neurocognitive difficulties, using evidence-based interventions. In addition to psychotherapy, as a Harvard trained, board-eligible clinical neuropsychologist, my expertise includes assessment of adults with psychological and neurocognitive complaints. Whether you are here for assessment or treatment, my approach is from a whole health, whole person perspective, working with you to tailor sessions to fit your individual goals, values, and needs.

What to expect?

I became a psychologist because I did not want anyone else to suffer alone through difficult life experiences and feelings. My general therapeutic approach is supportive, non-judgmental, and collaborative. I value authenticity and will share my thoughts and perspective. When appropriate, I incorporate integrative medicine, with the understanding that biological processes and psychological health interact. My interest in neuroscience and how it relates to consciousness, experiences, feelings, and behavior led me to focus on neuropsychology. I try to see the whole person and believe firmly that others should be treated with respect, kindness, empathy, and dignity.

Kinds of treatment?

Treatment plans are flexible to fit your needs. These may include consultation, brief and long-term interventions, supportive psychotherapy, and assessment. My background is in evidence-based treatments (EBTs), specifically Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), harm-reduction, and Integrative Medicine (formerly Complementary Alternative Medicine; CAM), particularly mindfulness/meditative practices. Treatment is focused and goal-directed, with the expectation that you will move forward and move on.
